A qualified Chartered Accountant since July 1980, Mr. Krishnan has served with leading Chartered Accountant Firms of India after completing articleship from Price Waterhouse & Co. Worked as Director in S.R. Batliboi Consultants Private Limited (an affiliate of Ernst and Young - International Accounting Firm) till August 1995. Has served as financial analyst in several World Bank and Asian Development Bank assisted Infrastructure Projects.

Has handled a variety of assignments including several World Bank / ADB / USAID aided Infrastructure Projects in India as a member of the project team as financial analyst. These projects involved detailed review and analysis of the functioning of public sector undertakings in the field, identification of problem areas, detailed study of funds management, pricing policies, tariff structures, cost and budget reviews, performance reviews, formulation of rehabilitation schemes, turnaround strategies and drawing up of action plans for implementation of the schemes suggested under the studies. Has also been involved in many assignments of valuation of companies, valuation of assets, determination of exchange ratios during merger / takeover, introduction and implementation of accounting / internal audit systems etc.
