participatory manner. The project, in
its fourth year of operation, emphasizes
people’s participation, and strengthening
of local institutions for effective delivery
of energy services to the local communities.

in the first cluster has been completed.
The linking of
BESCOM and facilitating the takeover of
electricity distribution by the local
communities has taken place. Direct feeder
line linking the villages in the first
cluster has also been completed.
A cluster level society is being formed
for taking over and managing distribution
of electricity from BESCOM. A work order
has been issued for the second phase of
the gasifier installation in the first
cluster. 13 borewells with power from
BESCOM have been energized.
Commissioning of 28 community bio-gas
plants has been completed to provide gas
to 92 households. Impact assessment study
of the first phase of biogas plants was
completed.
Raising of 8.3 lakh seedlings and plantation
on 688 hectares of community lands, and
327 hectares of farm lands was done. A
series of technical workshops have been
held for awareness building and capacity
building among local communities, including

conducted involving all cluster NGOs and
other experts for reviewing the progress
in the clusters.

38 farmers have installed storage tanks
and drip irrigation systems. 25 new WUAs
have been formed.
